The DVD releases for 2009 have something for everyone. "The Wrestler," starring Mickey Rourke, shows how his life turned out twenty years after his professional wrestling career. "Frost/Nixon" is based on the untold story of the interview between Richard Nixon, an ex-president, and David Frost, an overzealous reporter. Both are trying to prove something to themselves and end up doing more damage than good.
If action is your thing, "Transporter 3" is the third part of the Transporter series, starring Jason Statham. "The Dark Knight" is a great installment in the Batman series, starring Christian Bale, who was in the first Batman, and the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. Heath Ledger also posthumously won the best supporting actor award for his performance, which was well deserved.
"Yes Man," starring Jim Carrey, was a great family movie which made a man put positives in front of the negatives which were all around him. "Step Brothers," starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, was a funny look at two grown men living at home.
"Twilight" was huge in the movies and is now just as big on DVD. It was more of a teenage love story than it was a vampire movie, but that hasn't stopped it from making a huge impression. "High School Musical 3" is another teen flick, which was a clean cut movie for the pre-teens in our lives. "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" and "Space Buddies" are all-around family movies. Whether you've seen these before in the movie theater or will be watching them for the first time on DVD, you won't be disappointed.
