"Medium" Moves to CBS

"Medium" stars Patricia Arquette as Allison DuBois (who's a real person and a consultant on the show), a wife and mother of three girls, who just happens to talk to the dead.  She also has dreams which almost always predict a future event.  Sometimes she can get a flash about a person when she shakes the person's hand.  Allison seems to awake with a gasp every night after a dream, often somewhat grisly.  She uses the visions and dreams to aid the police and District Attorney in the investigation of murders only she knows about.  She wakes her husband, Joe, too.  In fact, no other show takes place so often in bed.  Joe's a long-suffering aeronautical engineer, quite literally a rocket scientist.  Joe's played by the very appealing Jake Weber.  The three girls, ages 16 to 5, each share their Mom’s abilities to certain degrees.  That’s one reason Joe is long-suffering.

Starting in January 2005, “Medium” is moving for its sixth year to CBS, which actually owns the show.  Fans have written in over the years to save the show as it seemed in danger of cancellation.  “Medium” has been my favorite show since 2005.  It's shown on syndication as well as its previous NBC slot, so true followers can tune into shows for sometimes the third time -- maybe more.  The reason I liked the show at the start was that it was different and intelligent, with a very original premise.  The style seems to have led to shows such as "Ghost Whisperer" and this year's "The Listener."  “Medium” will be paired up with “Ghost Whisperer” in its CBS slot.
