Bid Farewell - Cancelled TV Shows

There are some you might have loved. There are plenty you may never have heard of. Some were short-lived, and others outlived their usefulness. Here's a partial list.

According to Jim - Had an eight-year run. That couple did not go together. America's Toughest Jobs: Reality show. Did it make you appreciate your job? Lasted two months. American Gladiators: Revival of a 1989 show. This one lasted seven months. Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? An astounding number aren't. Will air in syndication in September. My Own Worst Enemy - Christian Slater does TV. No he doesn't. Two months.

Osournes: Reloaded - This time the family creates stunts with the audience. Goodbye, already. Prison Break - This was wildly popular for a while. A follow up movie will come to DVD in July. It aired for four years. Pushing Daisies - Cute. Weird. Ran for two seasons. Mad TV - Who'd have thought this would be cancelled? Going away after 14 seasons! Kath & Kim - Had a 17-episode run. More than enough. King of the Hill - Thirteen seasons and 250 episodes. Could be ready for syndication.

Knight Rider - Come on, did anyone think this would last? Six months and out. Deal or No Deal - Great success until the network overexposed it. Ratings dropped off after four years. Howie Mandel was everywhere. Howie Do It - Practical jokes. Howie Mandel again. Wow, two tough breaks. The Ex List - A woman has to find the man she'll marry, from her past, within a year. But the show had four episodes. Cupid - I liked it. I liked the original one in 1990, too. I think I was the only one. Dirty Sexy Money - One of the biggest promotions ever for a new series. No second season. Reaper - Amazingly creepy. Well written. Might continue in first-run syndication. Samantha Who? Lost out when it wasn't preceded by Dancing With The Stars.

Let's look forward to the fall shows in a few months.

I think Deal or No Deal did run two seasons, they just did all the episodes in 8 months. I remember it being on three nights a week for months! Go thing I had cable - Law and Order; NCIS alternatives at the ready.
