When Agatha was 24, she married Archibald Christie, a World War I flyer. They had a daughter, Rosalind, in 1919. To support the war effort, Agatha worked as a nurse in a hospital and became knowledgeable about illnesses, and while she was at it, poisons. This led to her first novel, "The Mysterious Affair at Styles." She became a published author in 1920.
In 1924 Agatha and her husband divorced. In 1930 she married Max Mallow. They remained married until her death in 1977. At the time of her death Agatha had written 66 novels, 160 short stories and 16 plays. If you're a true fan, don't miss her six romance novels under the name Mary Westmacott.
