I
don't know whether these baddies are on Netflix, but these films have won the
distinction of The Worst Movies Ever Made.
A worst movie party could be great fun.
If you saw "Ed Wood" with Johnny Depp, you saw the work of a
nutso director. In fact, Ed Wood was the
director of this list's number 1 and number 3.
Glen
or Glenda from 1953
actually starred Ed Wood. It's
semi-autobiographical, so you get the idea Ed liked appearing in drag.
Robot
Monster was also
from (what a year!) 1953. It's described
as a 3D science fiction film with an actor in a gorilla suit. Sure, OK.
Gives you an idea.
Plan
9 from Outer Space
actually defined "so bad it's good."
Yes, this was directed by Ed Wood too.
It's been called The Worse Film Ever by the Golden Turkey Awards. Wood's friend Bela Lugosi was in it, and Wood
liked his test footage. So the same
footage was repeated over and over in the movie. Lugosi died during the filming, and Wood brought
in an actor of completely different height and build. So that problem was solved by the character's
holding the cape over his face.
The
Beast of Yucca Flats was
narrated, but the film was silent. It
faintly referred to necrophilia, with a monster who was formerly a
scientist. So bad it was featured on
Mystery Science Theater 3000.
The
Creeping Terror
(Are you getting a theme here?) had actors walking slowly, and that gives you
the idea of creeping. They used footage
of a rocket launch backwards -- that was the spacecraft's landing. The director was also the star. Budget issues?
