Andre Agassi

A lot of babies have mobiles hanging above their cribs.  Andre Agassi had tennis balls.  His father's mission was to create a tennis champion.  Agassi’s early training led to mastery in hand-eye coordination.  He stood at the midpoint of the baseline, ready for any position to return, and exhausted his opponents as they ran back and forth.

In 1986, at age 16, Agassi became a professional.  He won the first and lost the second match in his first tournament.  In 1987 he ranked 25th in the world, having won his first top-level singles title. 

In 1994 he faltered in the French Open and Wimbledon but recovered in the Canadian open.  He was ranked the number one tennis player in the world in 1995
