If September 13's VMA awards were your first introduction to the way Kanye West handles matters if Kanye West doesn't like them, be assured there is a history here. Taylor Swift won the Best Female Video award, and was in the midst of thanking everyone for choosing a country singer. Kanye West appeared out of nowhere to say, "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time." Then he handed the microphone back to Taylor, but she wasn't able to finish after that. The camera caught Beyonce saying "Oh my God," then went to a long shot of the theater. Subsequently, Beyonce brought Taylor Swift back onstage for an ovation. However, Beyonce joined Pink, Mary K. Blige and Jay-Z to say they will never work with West until he offers a face-to-face apology to Swift.
The awards were on Sunday night. West appeared on Jay Leno's premiere Monday night and cast his eyes down in a contrite conversation. Taylor Swift appeared on "The View" on Tuesday but had not heard from Kanye. She received a call of apology from him after the show.
Kanye, get over yourself. You're in the news negatively. Start making it positive.
